How Well is your Spiritual Eyesight? <2 Ki 6:15-18; Ps 119:18, 37, 130; Prov 4:5, 20-21; 2 Co 5:7; 2 Co 4:17-18; Ac 26:18>

1. Can you easily see the presence and work of God?

Read: <2 Ki 6:15-18>

* Must learn to see God in the ordinary.

* It’s a pity that man often cannot see God in the ordinary:

(1) Spiritual eyes not open yet.

<2 Co 4:4> The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

(2) Although believed the Lord, faith still immature, so only can see God through extraordinary miracles and wonders.

* Must keep confirming that God is always doing wonderful things even in the ordinary.

2. What are your eyes looking at right now?

1) Man’s sins often start with the eyes.

2) If the Lord has already opened the spiritual eyes of those who are born again, we must guard our eyes and be careful about what we are looking at.

3. If spiritual vision is poor, must let God’s word correct and improve our perspective just like spectacle lens.

1) Let God’s word correct our perspective.

* What our physical eyes see may not be the whole truth.

- E.g.: The image our physical eyes see is upside down, and our brain has to correct it right side up.

* Should use God’s word to see all things, then can have accurate conclusion.

Read: <Ps 119:18, 37, 130; Prov 4:5, 20-21>

2) Build our perspective based on God’s word, instead of our situations.

*Although we may not be able to change our situations, we can change our perspective of the situations.

* Undesirable situations may “affect” us, but cannot “control” us.

* For we live by faith, not by sight. <2 Co 5:7>

* Situations may not change just because we have the right perspective, but with the right perspective, we can rise above the situations.

4. Particularly, an “eternal perspective” can change how we live this life.

Read: <2 Co 4:17-18>

* How far can your eyes see?

5. Because the eyes of men are so important, God sends us to open people’s eyes.

Read: <Ac 26:18>
