Preach the gospel to all creation, confirming the word.
<Mk 16:8,14-20>

1. Why the commission to preach the gospel?

1) Disciples were in awe, fear and disbelief, but they were overcome by “finally irresistible grace”.

* The Lord Jesus kept on appearing to them.

2) The cure for unbelief: the commission to preach the gospel.

* Unbelief is serious sin, but not disqualifying for God to be used.

2. Preach the gospel to all creatures… he who does not believe will be condemned.

1) Evangelism requires contributions and co-working of all believers.

* Every believer can and should learn the basic evangelistic gospel message.

2) The gospel is a weighty message to carry, because it involves calling people to believe and be baptised.

* Condemnation is a part of the gospel message.

3. Apostolic signs will follow those who believe and preach.

1) Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against our spiritual enemy.

2) Signs and wonders makes the gospel shine in the days of early church, but specific gifts of miracles no longer occur to the same extent today.

4. The way the Lord Jesus co-works with disciples.

1) Gospel also affirms that the Jesus has received all authority. Therefore, we must be prepared to obey fully in the Lord.

2) Our lives should not fall into lethargy, because God wants to act through us, preaching everywhere.
