Tested and trusted by God <Ro8:31-34; Mt7:21-23; Ro8:35-39; Jn21:15-17>

1. The reason for testing.

Scripture Reading: Ro8:31-34

1) True believers can rest upon the fact of the sufficiency of the gospel.

Scripture Reading: Mt7:21-23

2) It is important to know if you doing the will of the Father before concluding that you are known by the Lord.

3) False assurance: not understanding the gospel salvation (objectively), not confirming your regeneration (subjectively).

4) Lord, I trust You, but I just need to learn to trust You moreMk 9:24.

2. n testing, both God (our limited scope of how God trusts us) and ourselves (believing God’s trustworthiness) are put to the test.

1) Our flesh and the temptation we bear.

2) Ask: How can God abandon us at all? =Comprehending the gospel and fighting the spiritual battle.

Scripture Reading: Ro8:35-39; Jn21:15-17

3) The love that cuts into the wound Jn21:15-17à see God’s love and also see our affection for God.

* The Lord wants full commitment from us

4) Do you have hope for full assurance of God’s trust? This itself is truly Christian.
