Persuading the mind and heart through the gospel.

<2Cor 5:10-15,20>

Scripture Reading:  <2Cor 5:10-15>

1. The purpose of persuading men is to be 'reconciled to God'. <v20>

1 Ultimately, apostle Paul leaves his sincerity in preaching to the consciences of the believer.

2) Beware of human tendencies: out of mind for God, sound mind for men.

3) Faith has to go from the bible and go towards a coherent understanding of the Word of God.

2. Convince by faith and reason.

1) Objective proof (truthworthiness of the Scripture): the bible itself + external evidences

2) Persuasion and conviction: the Bible + Holy Spirit

* The internal testimony of the Holy Spirit adds nothing but makes us submit to the Word of God.

3. Christ's fear and love compels us.

1) He died for us all, therefore we have died.

2) He died for us, that we might live for Him.
