Convincing the mind and heart through the gospel.

<2Cor 5:14-21>

* In order to extinguish all external influences, we provoke the mind and heart to become more proficient in the doctrine of the gospel.

1. Know the truth about 'in Christ' and 'not in Christ'.

1) Nothing apart from being influenced by Christ's Spirit gives faith and consolation.

2) All that are not regenerated and renewed by the Spirit of God are 'old' and nothing in the kingdom of God.

3) Only the 'new' man flourishes and is vigorous in the kingdom of Christ.

2. In Christ God appeared to man, to put away transgressions, that we might be reconciled to God.

1) God loved man in the beginning, but man could not approach God until he perceived that Christ had propitiated the wrath of God.

2) The ministry of reconciliation is not magical, but a reasonable testimony through the gospel of how God's favor is restored.

3. There is no conviction from reconciliation with God, except what is founded on the sacrifice of Christ alone.

1) He died for us all, therefore we have died.

2) He died for us, that we might live for Him.
