Sunday Message 21/8/2022 (Session 2)

 

We Must Go Through Many Hardships to Enter the Kingdom of God

<Ac 14:19-26>

 

1.      Paul was stoned as he was preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God

1)      There are always people who will zealously persecute the gospel of the kingdom of God

2)      At first the crowd idolized Barnabas and Paul, then the crowd were won over by others

3)      In tribulations, God did not forsake His servants

 

2.      We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God 

1)      The flourishing of a ministry and the hardships that will come with it

 

2)      After Paul got up, he went back to cities where he was persecuted to strengthen the disciples 

(1)    The lives of the disciples must be strengthened 

(2)    Paul encouraged the disciples to remain true to the faith

(3)    They appointed elders in the church 

 

3)      With prayer and fasting, they committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust

 

3.      How should we face these numerous hardships?

1)      For the spreading of the gospel, Paul and Barnabas were not timid

2)      Paul and Barnabas valued the work they are to complete, having been committed to the grace of God
