Finding the will to please God. <Php1:2-3,6,9-12,20>

 

1. Being aware of the shortfall of gaining spirituality without pleasing God.

1) Knowing that God never coerces us by His sovereignty.

 

2) Christian wisdom approves the value of sanctification, and not aspire a freedom that is unaccountable.

 

3) Wanting to be filled with the fruits of righteousness, where God is the reward.

 

2. The seal of the Holy Spirit indwelling in us.

1) God not forsaking the work He Himself begun demands that we honor the Spirit's effectual call in our salvation.

 

2) The love God calls us to have is to abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment.

 

3) Recognizing that there is no higher goal than offering honor to God for Christ's salvation.

 

3. The apostle provides against the danger of persecution, so that we experience helplessness through unwillingness to be a reprobate and full willingness to follow God.

1) Evidences of furtherance of the gospel overcomes our fears.

 

2) According to the hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, because Christ will be magnified through experiencing perseverance.
