1. No one can tame the tongue.
1) The tongue has deadly poison
2) If we desire to form right our life, we must especially guard our speech
3) Consistency does not mean hard and direct, though it can be confrontational.
2. Double-tongued and single-minded speech.
Read <Mat 7:2>
1) God ought to be blessed in all His works, especially men, His special works, image and glory.
2) We ought to be afraid to speak slanderously of men.
3) Contradictory speech reveals the problem in our hearts.
4) Gracious speech must be purposeful in reflecting and representing the Creator.
3. The gentleness of true.
1) False conceit of wisdom vs the wisdom having meekness and courtesy
2) Speech that Builds Up
3) The sweetness of lips increases learning, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. <Pro16:20-24>
