When We Feel Helpless…

<Eph 6:12; Mt 9:36-38; 2 Ch 20:1-17>

Introduction

· Read <Eph 6:12>

· Man will face spiritual battle

· What is the significance of us walking with God?

· It does not mean that man will no longer have problems after believing in the Lord

1.   Can Christians fall into very helpless state?

1)   Examples of Bible characters who encountered helpless moments

· Examples: Job, Joseph, Moses, prophet Elijah, etc

· It is inevitable that believers encounter problems

· What matters is how should we face problems?

2)   What kinds of helpless situations will believers today encounter?

① All kinds of situations that cannot be resolved or changed
② People reject the gospel you preached

③ Your own spiritual life hits rock bottom

2.   Why does God allow believers to fall into helpless state?

1)   God wants to have you!

· Most people come to church because of problems

· But even believers can also take God for granted

2)   So that we can spread the gospel

· Gospel is not just about “good things” happening

· We have a Helper!

· Some believers will hide their “unpleasant sides”

3)   Human helplessness is related to the gospel

· Read <Mt 9:36-38>

3.   What should believers do when faced with helplessness?

1)   When man encounters problems, must certainly pray!

· Read <2 Ch 20:1-4>

· Two key points:

① Should fast and pray

②  Everyone praying with one heart

Read <2 Ch 20:5-7, 10>

2)   Think about who God is, and what he has done

· Read <2 Ch 20:11-12>

3)   We must know how to test and approve God’s response

· Read <2 Ch 20:13-17>

· God hears our every prayer, but God may not accede to all our requests
