(4) Build, ExpandÉ

1) In the bible, the perfect will is placed on a core establishment and the contents around it

God builds the perfect eternal Kingdom and prepare His people to enter it. He prepares His people by bearing us into this chaotic world with chaotic conditions. Through the short time of 70-80 years of earthly life, He has prepared for us to receive life and healing. This is through everyday's process of acquiring an ordered series of establishments so that we may be founded and built up in Him. We enter heaven through the narrow road God has prepared for us.

It will not do if we succeed in some of the contents but not from the core establishment itself. Therefore, have we anything in our lives that we do not wish people to know? Is there anything in our lives that is still in a confused and chaotic state? Do not remain in accusations, but see how God is establishing you.

Today's meeting is one of such establishments. This is the hour that we will be freed, healed and restored from the wildest and confused situations inside us, in our family, and in the important interpersonal relationships reaching to the ends of the world in our church and fields. Therefore, have we prepared our own personal prayer topics to come to this Discipleship Training? We come here to hear God's beautiful instructions for us here. If we do not receive fulfillments, we will not only waste away, we will also only be puffed up in knowledge. If we have not prepared the prayers, prepare it right now.

2) 1 and 2 Chronicles tell us what the subjective establishments through which God's works center around are = Build the temple then sacrifice offerings by it

There are many things that are going on. Practical things are important. However, spiritual things influence the practical things in the world, and the spiritual things have a root and foundation. Only when we have foundation can practical living be built up beautifully, never neglecting life and everything that happens. Therefore, God is not a God of the dead, but the God of the Living. If we have the correct establishment at the very beginning, all things will go well even though we may wear out externally.

1 and 2 Chronicles talk about this very thing. Have we understood 1 Chronicles yet? 1 Chronicles focused on the fact that God chose David out of many to be king. It is only through the system and genealogy of David can we then be saved into the kingdom. This is because only the level of David's blessedness and promise will Jesus Christ "appear" in our lives and our descendants to be like Christ. Why was David chosen? This is because He was different. Once he was made king, he made so much fuss in bringing the Ark of the Covenant to himself. Finally, the conclusion of David's life was his lifelong purpose to build the temple of God to gather, unite and spur the Israelites onwards. What about 2 Chronicles? Solomon built the temple that David made extensive preparations for. (Last week, we have looked at the vast preparations made through the installments of the ministry of Levites, the treasury and the army, and the offerings made by David and all, heaping up praises and pleasure to and from God. Through the temple being built, the nation had peace; all nations around came to Israel and Israel's land expanded. The 8 kings of Judah were good as they had their foundations in David's system. Finally, they were carried away to exile in Babylon. In Isaiah 45 (200 years before Cyrus was born), it was already prophecized that Cyrus would cause the Israelites to return to rebuild the temple.

1 and 2 Kings narrated that there are 2 types of believers. The first type of believers is those that are a carbon-copy like Nicodemus without life, because their system is not from the temple that God established (through David). These believers do not know about receiving the conviction of the Holy Spirit and conversing with God. Therefore, they are dead. This is Northern Israel. The second type of believers are built on the system of David, and this is the very temple David desired to build. 1 and 2 Chronicles were written after the return of exile and they were a reflection of God's emphasis. So what is God's emphasis here? It is no other than building the temple of God. Take notice of this very key point. I repeat: 1 and 2 Kings objectively mention about 2 types of believers, but the purpose of 1 and 2 Chronicles subjectively go into the very purpose of life of the living believers - building the holy temple.

Build the temple then sacrifice offerings by it

Our individual life must build the temple. This is by knowing Who God is and His purpose. This is concentrated in the Ark of the Covenant. One day, in our life, we are able to bring it into the Most Holy Place (Holy of Holies). The Most Holy Place is our innermost desires and intentions in our hearts. This is the centre of the holy temple of God. Build it up and magnify the family. Gather around the church, and as we do worship and be equipped, God will bring and gather those whom He wants to use. Then the temple must expand regionally and to the ends of the world. This is the objective of our life. Then after the temple is built, we worship and sacrifice by it.

Actually Jesus Christ is the most perfect Holy Temple. He said, "Destroy the temple and I will raise it up in 3 days." Jesus Christ is in us so that the Holy Temple is already in us - we are the children of God, holy priests, holy nation, the Holy Spirit's temple, etc. After the temple is built, we accord to it to test and approve God's perfect will and walk central to Him.

3) God's emphasis in every step

Every day, what we need most will naturally follow the intentions of our hearts. Is our heart hungering and thirsting for the right thing? When this hunger is satisfied, we will have peace. We have hope for tomorrow and then we can have joy. Therefore, we have to learn and build the intentions of the heart up. This is called building the temple. By building the temple in our hearts, we will then be able to see His fulfillments and have joy in every step we take.

Therefore, it is very important that we know that there is God's emphasis in every step we make. What is God's emphasis last week? And what is God's emphasis this week? What about today? We test and approve by the temple that is built up in us to know about this emphasis.

Individual life -> Build temple: Jesus Christ

The most perfect example of the temple is Jesus Christ Himself. What is He doing if He is I? He has brothers, family, job, church, etc in the same way as us. Yet He reveals Emmanuel in all these daily visible activities, telling us to know the truth of God's perfect will, hear His voice and see His works. He sacrifices with His own blood to show real love, so as to confirm that the people He touches are really worthy and important. He gives promises and entrusts them to His disciples. He continues to pray for His loved ones so that they may continue to receive the word from the Holy Spirit. And He hopes for His loved ones by prophecizing about their future.

How will Jesus Christ begin His day? We may not be perfect, but we must build this up. This is called building the temple. He starts his day from the bed, yawning as He wakes up. He takes in water, goes to the toilet, brushes His teeth, and drinks a cup of coffee seeing and praising God as He sees that He belongs to His Father in heaven. He seeks, tests and approves the perfect will the Father will show Him in the day. He will not be anxious or overly tired. Are we? Have this picture, and slowly build up. He will see that if He has to do 8 hours of work, He will just do so. He will get in touch with His lunch mates and He glorifies God through being with them. When He reached 30 years old for full-time ministry, He also seeks the perfect will of God to live. He Himself is the temple of God, and the temple of God is perfectly in Him. Therefore, the Holy Spirit will definitely convict Him. In the morning, He prays for people around Him, starting first from those God places around Him. In the daytime, many people will follow him. He just tells the truth, and with authority, drives out demons to heal people and tell the dead to become alive. Many times, He raises His head in prayer to see God's grace and smiles. He is in prayer always. In the evening, He has His dinner. If He eats with the family, He blesses the family with the practical, yet down-to-earth humorous works of God that He saw in the daytime. Before the day concludes, He gathers the harvest that God has abundantly provided. I am talking about the temple that Jesus Christ Himself is. We should build this temple of God as our lifelong purpose. With this temple of God that is built up in us, we make sacrifices on this temple. This is called enjoyment. If the temple is built up, sacrificing means being able to naturally gather praise seeing more blessings from God when people persecute you. If the temple is built up saying that some fulfillments come fast, and some come much later, there will be calmness and we will be able to see God's love. Making sacrifices means preserving the heart with this love. Build the temple like this.

Make prayers on the temple -> formatted individual

-> family -> church / region -> world / era

In other words, we receive the temple of Jesus Christ, and then we make prayers by it, then from the haphazard, chaotic and confused situations of our lives, we become more orderly, formatted and systemized. From here, we build up the relationships with the people beside us. This is building up the temple. From the church, disciples built up, through regional and world gospelization, the temple is expanded. This is what we are to do for our whole life.

The Complete System of 1 and 2 Chronicles <- Bible (JX wisdom), Human History (JX revelation), My own life (JX temple)

The whole history is for testifying the mystery of Jesus Christ <Col 1:28>. All the wisdom is saved up through all the human history into Him. Through every process and step in history, God reveals slowly and bit by bit to His blessed ones about the Messiah (JX). And the purpose of all these is to build the temple of the mystery of Jesus Christ in the very people of God.

If we must read completely 1 and 2 Chronicles, their system must be joined up together with the whole content of the bible, with the whole human history, and with our own life. Therefore, we must format up the bible in this aspect even though we may have gone through and known the books of the bible before.

God's purpose in the whole of human history is for His Kingdom (new heavens and new earth), the King, and His People. Therefore, God writes the 70-80 years of life on earth, and the day today on 28th September 2007 with the length of the whole human history in His mind.

**

The first Adam (Flesh, Sin, Satan) -> Chaos (Individual, spousal, parent-child, siblings, neighbours)

The second Adam = Seed of woman, garments of skin -> build temple (God's word & Holy Spirit, righteousness & love, throne dominion) -> worship (Abel, Noah) -> RSYRJG (Crown)

God gave Adam 930 years of life but gives us 70-80 years old life. God allowed temporary problems in his life (and in our lives) to pursue the things of flesh in the world, caused us to sin and be deceived by Satan. Therefore he went into great chaos. When we are unable to see God who is always with us, we will be in spiritual confusion. Emotional confusion comes too. Interpersonal relationships are confused from joining together in love. Family confusion, economic confusion, future confusion, offspring confusion, etc all happened.

Only the mystery of Jesus Christ, the second Adam, can lead us out of the problems by death and resurrection through the great gap, and gives us new life, new identity, new purpose of life, new heart to touch all people and all things, and all relationships restores this way in the right way originally planned by God. This is the process of history.

After building the temple of Jesus Christ, worship must take place immediately. This is in Genesis chapter 4, where Cain and Abel worshipped (but Cain did not build on the temple of Jesus Christ, therefore failed). Cain was like Northern Israel, the child of men, but Abel was like Judah, the child of God.

After worship, RSYRJG must happen. This is the lifelong purpose of Noah.

Individual temple construction, family temple construction, church temple construction, regional temple construction, world temple construction

** 1. Abraham -> 2. Moses -> 3. David -> 4. Jesus Christ -> 5. Me

In the process of building the temple, the 4 persons are very important. The first 3 represent setting up the altar, building the tabernacle, and building the temple respectively. As the whole human history is led by God, the temple is restored through the process of history so that God's blessing, accomplishing of His objective, heart of loving God and men, and the kingdom is restored. Note here that the building of the temple is a restoration and is a process.

<12:1-3/ 13:14-18/ 15:1-21/ 17:1-27/ 22:1-19>

1. Abraham (Mount Moriah, sacrifice Isaac / sacrifice self => Jehovah Jireh / Jesus Christ => people / king / kingdom)

<Gen 12:1-3/ 13:14-14-18 / 15:1-21 / 17:1-27 / 22:1-19>

=> Isaac (Prayer / 100 times blessings) -> Jacob (12 sons /Bethel / Sanctification) -> Joseph (Vision / Prayer / Conquer world)

=> 70 Israelites (400 years, fruitful & increase in numbers) 12 tribes 3,000,000 people

The temple that Solomon was building is on Araunah's threshing floor, which is Mount Moriah, where Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac.

Gen 12:1-3 Four gospelization

Gen 13:14-18 = Prayers made will go to the NESW (the ends)

Gen 15:1-21 = Made covenant (descendants as numerous as stars)

Gen 17:1-27 = Change name (because easily deceived), circumcised

Gen 22:1-19 = climax at Mount Moriah conquering the gates of enemies

Abraham set up the altar and called upon the Name of Jehovah the first thing he came out from Mesopotamia. Abraham's God is same God as us because the God He knew at the altar is in the form of Jesus Christ = love, just, abundant, in control .. Isaac had the essence of temple through prayers and receiving 100 blessings through it easily. Jacob was continually told to go back to Bethel, which means the temple of God. When he didn't, his daughter was defiled, and Israel faced racial extermination. Joseph saw vision from young and always heard the voice of God. He conquered the world. God continually told the people He called to build the temple and to sacrifice offering on it.

2. Moses / 12 tribes (Mount Horeb: Ex 1:18, blood sacrifice / Mount Sinai: Ark of Covenant / Tabernacle / Offer Sacrifices)

< Exodus (Lamb's Blood), Red Sea (God-driven), Tabernacle (Ark of Covenant), Desert (Pillar of Cloud and Fire), Land of Canaan (Fixed Perspective)

=> Joshua (Conquest / Division of Lands / Inheritance) -> Judges -> Because Israelites do not have king, did as they wished -> King

Why must Israelites go into the land of Canaan to worship God? This is because they had to build the tabernacle and sacrifice on it.

Exodus (Lamb's Blood) - the reason of the hardened heart of Pharaoh

Red Sea (God-driven) - the worries in us and our families are washed away and we walk on dry ground

Tabernacle (Ark of Covenant) - conversing with God

Desert (Pillar of Cloud and Fire) - if we do not preserve this, and see God every moment, we are already in failure and worries, stress, and fear immediately grasp us.

Conquest (Fixed perspective) - not by might but by fixed perspective

Joshua inherited, and conquered. However, Judges era came becaue Israelites did as they wished. Rahab, Ruth, Samuel and Saul were there to reveal David. This is because Jesus Christ must come from the way, the truth and the life of David.

3. David (Araunah's threshing floor / Sacrifice offerings) <2Ch 6:6 But now I have chosen Jerusalem for my Name to be there, and I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.>

1) Genealogy of God's people <1-9> 2) David became king <10-12> 3) Safekeep Ark of Covenant <13-17> 4) Conquest <19-20> 5) Prepared building the temple <21-29> (David's lifelong preparation of building the temple = design / materials / system roles precepts laws)

=> Solomon <1-9> (Wisdom / build temple / offer sacrifices / testify / honour)

-> 347 years / 12 kings (Success and Failure = followed David's road?) <10:1-36:21>

-> Exiled 70 years (Daniel / few watchmen / testify) -> Returned home <36:22-23>

** 1, 2 Chronicles main theme: eternal lasting kingdom of David

Why did David and Solomon say that God did not live in temple that they took so much effort to build? This is because God lives in the hearts of blessed men; God must live in our hearts. Through the psalms of David, we see that he kept the Ark of Covenant in his heart. Therefore, all his enemies were gone. He gathered so much wisdom that God told him everything and even all the strategies of wars. Therefore, our strategy of winning a conflict is to go to God.

Why did David want to build the temple? This is to tell the Israelites to become one, unite and become a testimony to all. This was so that when they were revived, their laws, culture, etc would surpass over all Gentiles. Without the temple, our lives are in great confusion. There will be no system of how to take care of children with the balance of life, etc. Therefore, sanctification is about how much we have built the temple, so that in all cases, when we wake up, we receive how much grace, etc. The depth of joining together of our family members, and with the neighbours, and with the church is dependent on how much we have built the temple. For our church, hymn books to build, worship to build, Sunday school to build, etc. Once the foundations for our church have been set u
