A term often repeated by Rev Lee in the church camp this year is “holy communion”. It means “holy fellowship” or “holy unity, communication”. Who should we have fellowship and communication with? Actually, they are the people who are related to us. This includes God, family members, brethren, colleagues, relatives and friends. We must admit, all relationships are set by God for us, and the most important relationship is our relationship with God. Because He is the One who created us and gave us the living breath. If our relationship with God is not right, our perspectives on other relationships, all things and our explanations will all be wrong. Therefore, spreading the gospel and leading people to the Lord is very important. However, a state that many believers will end up in is – when they just accepted the Lord, and received the gospel, they will have fire in their hearts. However, as time passes, the fire in their hearts will slowly become cold. Another situation is that believers often earnestly pray for the salvation of the family, but after the family member has accepted Christ, how many will continue to care for and shepherd the family? If a believer is already lukewarm, will he still care about the spiritual life of his family members? Therefore, believers must always receive renewal that comes from God. If not, they will be easily deceived and bound by the desires of the world and all kinds of problems and enter into a lukewarm state. What then does it mean to be renewed? Simply said, it is to restore the original state – restore the original relationship with God, other people and all things; restore God’s purpose in creating mankind, etc. When this original state is restored, then we can enter into true “holy communion”.
